St Neots recently hosted a community coaches curry night for not only our own coaches but schools and other clubs to attend and learn more about the kids first pledge. Our annual club open day is always a success and opens the door to anyone who wants to try rugby or just enjoy the social side. Our annual charity festival held in April is a weekend of opening the club up to everyone in the town to enjoy themselves with beer festivals, games, rugby matches including the legendary dads vs coaches game and finishes with our mini festival on the Sunday where we often have 100 children playing rugby and enjoying themselves.” We are an ambitious club and want to kick on and move forward, playing at the highest level we can in the senior and ladies sections and with mini and juniors we would love to keep the kids enjoying themselves and help nurture the next group of world beaters.” Challenges/Ambitions “There are lots of things that impact a rugby club like ours but hopefully we have planned for some of the most common and a few of the less common; finance will always be at the back of everyone’s minds as we will always have bills to pay but we enjoy a challenge. “I played for the club for more than fifteen years and stopped seven years ago at the age of 53. I used to be captain of the third team and in 2003 we went unbeaten through the whole season, winning the league in the process. My son Lewis also plays and I now sponsor the club and plan to continue to help out wherever I can. I coached my son’s teams through the age groups from U9s to U16s and he is now playing 1st team rugby at the age of 32. I actually played my last game with my son in a Cup Final and we won it. There was nothing better than having the opportunity to play my final game with my son. The team is looking to consolidate this year after being promoted and have been playing really well. Hopefully they can keep pushing on and playing exciting rugby. I wish them all the best for the rest of the season.” Gary Hall GRANSDEN PRINT SHOP Bespoke, professional print services Banners | Signage | Gifts • Indoor and outdoor banners for all occasions and promotions etc. • Self adhesive vinyl sticker and window stickers • Indoor and outdoor signage on a multitude of substrates • Specialist printing to wood, glass, acrylic, metals and basically anything that the ink will stick to. • We offer special rates as a bit of support for sports clubs of any kind which helps to maximise their sponsorship income.
