Northern FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/RUGBYCLUBMAG Asphalt production and highway maintenance product specialists, Jobling Purser, have enjoyed a proud sponsorship association with Northern FC for over four years. In that time they have supported both the club and with particular focus on the next generation of players, the Northern FC youth teams. Jobling Purser Operations Director, Evan Jobling-Purser having played for the senior team, now also actively encourages his children to get stuck in and they have all enjoyed playing rugby in the club’s youth teams. When recently discussing this ongoing relationship, Evan Jobling-Purser commented, “It’s a privilege to be involved with such a great rugby club. Every aspect from the rugby on the pitch through to the socialising in the bar afterwards is a friendly, enjoyable experience. We wish every success to all the Northern FC teams for the rest of this season.” “I’ve been involved with the club for around seven years due to my son playing and like to help out when I can. My son, Jack started out in the minis and is now playing for the U13s at inside centre. They are having a great season so far and hopefully they can push on in the second half of the season.” Peter Bowden Locally Expert, Globally Connected. Our Terrace Bar (which now sells paninis, sandwiches etc.) is well used by the local community with our monthly food nights (curry night, pie night etc.) extremely popular. Our squash section has a full membership and is gaining national recognition for tournaments hosted at Northern and has a strong youth section.” Challenges/Ambitions “One of the biggest challenges for us is to maintain and increase the senior rugby playing membership in an environment where many clubs are unable to field more than one side. There is also the challenge to increase the club’s revenue from off field activities in the clubhouse and grounds. Our ambitions are to consolidate the 1st team in a competitive league whilst maintaining the amateur status of the players, to field three senior teams plus a Colts team each season and to try to progress mini-rugby players all the way through to the Senior club. Off the pitch there are future improvements planned for the clubhouse and grounds.” Image courtesy of Stephen Carrick Working alongside developers, landlords and commercial property occupiers, we provide a professional, personal service that is recognised through our long standing relationships with our clients. • • • • • • • • • Building Consultancy Business Rates Capital Markets (Investment) Lease Advisory Industrial Agency & Logistics Office Agency Property Asset Management Residential Development Consultancy Valuations knightfrank.com T: 0191 221 2211 St Ann’s Quay, 124 Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 3BD 54 Issue 83 CT4044-87x124mm-ADVERT-v2.indd 1 14/01/2019 16:33
