“I have been associated with the club for nearly twenty years and for part of that time was the Chairman of mini rugby. I first got
involved when asked to coach minis and juniors after moving back to the area with my background as a coach at London Irish.
As part of a dedicated team of enthusiastic and committed volunteers we wanted to develop an inclusive and thriving mini and youth
section which I think we did, and which has continued through the continued hard work of others who followed.
A big part of the success was encouraging and arranging for all age groups to tour. This eventually involved our participating the
London Irish RFC Mini Festival, which was the largest rugby participation festival in the world, with teams travelling from all over the UK,
Ireland and Europe. All mini age groups took part and it involved a mass exodus from the North-east.
Muckle, where I am a partner, have been sponsoring the club for over fifteen years, doing a variety of things to the club. I get to as
many games as I can and think they’re doing very well with their run of form currently. I’m excited to see what the second half of the
season has to offer. It is great to see young players coming through the system.
I see Northern as the community beacon and the club has been a great example of what community means. It’s good to see so many
former minis and juniors playing with the senior teams, real credit to what a dedicated team of volunteers and coaches have achieved
over the past twenty years.”

“I have played and supported the club since I was around 6 years
old – it’s like a second home! Bradley Hall has sponsored the club
for over ten years. Northern RFC is a fantastic organisation which
supports local grassroots sport. We are proud to support such
organisations which provide opportunities for the local community.
We hope to see the popularity of the club continue and look forward
to continuing our relationship with Northern RFC. Best wishes from
the company to everyone at the club.”
Group Managing Director, Neil Hart
“I used to play for the club in the colts and the juniors and have recently
started to sponsor them with a match board and in their programme.
Their performances have been really good and I’m looking forward to
the rest of the season. It is great to be a part of the club and I wish
them all the best for the future.”
