“I played as a junior and colt for
the club and now sponsor Adam
Lloyd who works for me. I played
in the front row or as a number
8 from the age of nine through
to nineteen. Adam plays in the
second row and is into his eighth
season with the club.
I get down to games whenever
I can and there is always
a representative from the
business in attendance. It was
a shame the club got relegated
but they’ve a good chance of
bouncing straight back up. They
are doing well at the moment and
will hopefully keep up the good
work.”

Community Challenges/Ambitions
“We are very much a community
club, particularly as we are based in
the town itself just a few minutes’ walk
from the high street. The club itself is a
venue for all sorts of events throughout
the year including business functions,
weddings and charitable events. We are
also supporters of North Devon Hospice,
a charity very dear to our hearts.” “I guess with such a healthy support
base and our facilities, our biggest
challenge would be in continuing to
make our club attractive in other areas
to as many people as possible. Change
is never easy but we need to recognise
that change is necessary to continue
the successful developments already
achieved. Our ambitions are to ensuring
44 Issue 83
we continue to provide an excellent
level of rugby with National League
status once again, so our supporters
and sponsors benefit from national
recognition.”
