On the 20th anniversary of the business we gave the club a sign that can be changed for games and are planning to donate a fundraising thermometer for the 35th anniversary.” Elsi Duncan, D-Signs INSURANCE THAT’S ON YOUR DOORSTEP Call our office in Stirling on 01786 446 585 “Our target is to be in the Top 4 this seasaon. Last year we made the Cup Final and we would like to repeat a good run there and be a Top 4 team. Our U18s won the U18 Scottish Youth Cup and it would be great if we can repeat that success. To achieve our goals it is going to be down to a lot of hard work from everyone involved in the club. We have a lot of work ahead of us and are really looking forwards to it. “Five years from now I would like to see the club as fully sustainable, offering rugby to those that want it. At present those at the highest level possible play semi- professionally and I’m hoping the Super 6 league is established and working well. I want all our players to have pathways because I do really believe rugby is a game that offers everyone a great opportunity to develop. Our aim is very much to be a modern, forward thinking establishment that retains the traditional values that make Stirling County and Rugby as a whole so special. “We’re a strong, vibrant club that is moving forward in a very positive fashion with membership never being higher so it really is an exciting time to be involved with the club and I’m really looking forwards to the future.” “I moved to the club around thirty years ago and initially started following the club as a spectator before going on to sponsor them which I have done now for around fifteen years. The club has a good junior set up with some fine coaches and there are now talented players coming through the ranks. I hope the guys continue to play entertaining rugby and wish them the best of luck ahead of the new season.” Mike Pain, Saturn Taxis “I have a strong family connection with the club; my father, (Murray Lyle) and my brother (Frasier Lyle) both used to play for the club. I play for the second team as a centre and have also sponsored the club for more than eight years. If I’m not playing I’m watching with my Dad and it was great to see the team get to a Cup Final and do the club proud. “Our partnership with the Rugby Club dates back to the 90s and the Club has always been very supportive of the Hospice. The Team has supported a number of Hospice campaigns and last year raised £870.00 through an ‘alternative team photo’ .” Claire Macdonald, Strathcarron Hospice Our JustGiving page is here: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/scrfc With the fantastic new facilities at the club more players are being attracted and there is a clear pathway in place to help them progress to professional rugby. I’d encourage everyone at the club to continue to work hard to make sure that we are in the best position possible for the upcoming changes.” David Lyle, NFU Mutual Agent of The National Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Society Limited. 14 Issue 80 www.rugbyclubmag.com 15
