DL JOINERY
Daryl Lindsay has had a long and positive association with
Hillfoots Rugby Club. He recently told Rugby Club Magazine,
“Coming from Alva Academy I was encouraged by Phil
Stevens to go down to Hillfoots which I duly did playing in the
no. 8 position. Some first team games and many 2nd team
fixtures later I still have a close association with the club as
does my wife Laura and daughter Julia who still visit the club.
My business, DL Joinery, is a club sponsor and I like to help
out when I can. As a 2nd XV sponsor now I am very proud
of the role the 2nds take on, allowing 1st 1V players to take
a break, youngsters to develop and older players to enjoy a
game. Hillfoots is a very family friendly and community club
and I really hope players remain with us and help the club
develop. Best wishes to everyone at the club for the future!”
Norman Roland has had a long and
positive association with the club and has
sponsored Hillfoots in various ways over
the years. He told Rugby Club Magazine,
“I started playing for the club as a 14 year
old resulting from a hiatus amongst our
teachers at school who had gone on strike.
Work and family interjected for a few years
and I returned to play for the vets in my
mid 30’s. My playing positions went from
forwards to backs and then returned to
forwards.
As age has crept up on me now I haven’t
played for a few years and think my playing
days are all but over ... it’s great that the
club are thriving this year and the plans
for a new sports complex will be great for
local rugby and sport. I would encourage
everybody at Hillfoots Rugby Club to
continue with their obvious hard work and
wish them all the very best of continued
success!”
