Claverdon Results wise it’s been slightly disappointing, we’ve had a lot of games lost by only a couple of points and in the last couple of minutes of the games. The passion amongst the team though is second to none. We have had a tour to Newcastle followed by a club dinner, there will be touch rugby and BBQ’s most weeks throughout the summer with pre-season starting sometime in July.” Hemming & Peace Funeral Services We create every funeral individually, just for you. Youth “Youth rugby is very important to the club! We have nearly 300 minis currently at the club who come down every Sunday. It’s difficult to ensure players make the transition into the senior game, a lot of players head off to University and then move away from the age of 18, meaning not many successfully make the transition.” Challenges/Ambitions “Maintaining a 2nd team could be hard, with amateur rugby on the decline the lowest level of rugby will be the most punished. I don’t doubt that Claverdon will be able to get a team out every week as we are such a popular club but getting opposition will be tough. This will then make people lose interest which could be devastating for the club. Realistically, our ambition is to stay exactly how we are, we are not world beaters on the pitch and don’t intend to be. Our Motto is ‘We are a social club that plays rugby’ although we have some very talented players at the club we don’t really want to start climbing up the leagues as it will be very difficult to stay up which could then make people lose interest.” Hemming & Peace Funeral Services are here to support and guide you.
