“My first involvement for the club was when I was
seventeen or eighteen when I went to watch them and
had a few beers. I then played for the club as a wing/
centre for eight years between 2008 and 2016.
I’ve sponsored Mersea Island for three years now and still
have friends at the club so always keep up to date with
how they are getting along. I hope the club keep it up

Daniel Blacklock of club sponsor D B Attenuation Limited
recently took the time to tell us more about his positive
association with the club, saying, “I’ve sponsored the club
for seventeen years now having first gotten involved when I
moved to the area from Colchester. I had previously played
against the club so knew a few people already and have
found it to be a friendly, family orientated set up with a great
atmosphere.
My son, Stephen Blacklock, now plays as a tighthead and I
still get down to the club whenever I can. I think the first team
had a good season this year in a tough league and it is great
to see the junior section going from strength-to-strength.
