“ I have known about the good work that the club does for a long time after being born and bred in the area . We ’ ve sponsored them for around five years now ; as a company we ’ re always keen to support the company and help the club as much as we can .
One of our employees , Scott Craske , plays for them as a blindside flanker and I get down to as many games as I can whilst always keeping up with how they are getting on on social media . The club does a fantastic job and is a valuable asset to the community – long may it continue .”

RFU on schemes to ease or overcome these barriers . “ This year we have recognised that we must make ourselves more attractive to the outside world ( but looking at some of our forwards , this will be a challenge !). We have recently won the Nat West RFU grant to improve our ‘ social space ’ and recent meeting with RFU designers have thrown up some great ideas to attract more local people to use BRUFC for events and social functions . We must now consider ourselves as a community club and already this summer we have made great strides to complete a full programme of activities .
“ I believe one of the biggest challenges we face in 2019 is to transition our Junior playing sections into our senior squads . Without this we will not be able to field a full fixture list or compete at the next level .
“ Our ambition therefore is to seed at least five new players from U16 and then field a full 2nd XV for a full season . We must also be mindful that to keep our best players we must offer something different , if not better and therefore looking inward , we are improving our club house for the enjoyment of all and to attract more people to the club and serve on the committee , to steer us forward .
“ Over the next five years we can , if we apply ourselves , reach at least another two levels up the Midlands leagues and compete locally with our many neighbours already enjoying the success and support that brings .
“ This week the club held a small ceremony in the newly refurbished clubroom , where club President - Bill Mount and I welcomed the new coaches ( Cy Philp and Jamie Jones ) into the club in the hope of great achievements both on and off the pitch .
