RUGBY UNION FOOTBALL CLUB
Bowdon RUFC is a fantastic example of the important role that a club can
play in their local community. Rugby Club Magazine recently caught up
with their Chairman Mark Jordan to find out more about the good work
that has been going on at the club lately.
He told us, “I’ve been here for around
25 years and have been chairman for the
last three years. Seeing the club grow has
been terrific. If you go back to 1993 we
had a very old clubhouse – it was a great
place for a bunch of blokes to socialise
but as time has moved on we now have
a terrific family set up for the whole
community. That has allowed us to go
from a group of around 80 people being
involved to well over a thousand now.”

other commitments but like I say we’ve
seen players coming through recently.
Maybe five years from now we hope
to have around half our players having
come through the youth section here.
“Overall, I’d say we’re happy with
how the season has gone. We’ve had
some disappointing results but also
some very good ones. Our ambition
