He recently told Rugby Club Magazine, “We’ve sponsored Devizes for ten years now. My son plays for the club having initially ben introduced to the game through school. He has played for seven years now and is a second row. Devizes RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB Devizes RFC is based at the Chivers Ground on London Road and their first team currently competes in the Southern Counties South League. They are led by the team of Chairman Rod Brown and President Mark Gingham and the club is looking to progress under their guidance. 86 Issue 77 Devizes RFC really is a lovely club with a great atmosphere and I hope they do well in the future, getting the success that their efforts deserve.” The club is able to boast some of the best facilities in the area with premier floodlights, newly redecorated changing rooms, a supporters terrace, two perfectly kept pitches and two bars which also contain the very latest technology to watch live games. They pride themselves on being a friendly club and will always provide new players with a warm welcome regardless of age, ability or fitness level. So far this season their first team has put together a steady league campaign, having compiled a record of eight wins and eight defeats from their sixteen league matches. This has left them sitting in a safe mid table position as the season draws to a close. They will now be looking to put together a good run of results over their remaining fixtures in order to finish the season on a high and also to build some momentum for the summer months. As long as they are able to retain their current gr oup of players and can perhaps make one or two quality additions they should be in with a good chance of pushing on next season. Devizes is not a club to focus solely upon their senior section and this is reflected by the fact that they also have a thriving youth set up. This part of the club looks to provide young players from the local area with an opportunity to play the game in a safe and enjoyable environment whilst helping them to reach their full potential.
