North Tawton RUGBY CLUB

North Tawton Rugby Club is set in the heart of Devon around forty minutes west of Exeter . The club currently plays in Devon 2 and runs a men ’ s senior side and a shared junior team with Okehampton . The club , which has been running since 1885 , has some of the best facilities in the county with a modern day clubhouse , four pitches and state of the art floodlights .
Currently , this season , the rugby club are top of their league and looking to get promoted after been relegating the season before . Although things are on the up , the club has recently struggled with recruitment of players and volunteers until this season .
James Miller a player who has been with the club for eight years was nominated chairman and captain all in the same season . He told us , “ I was first attracted to the club due to its fantastic facilities and the welcoming atmosphere . No matter what your ability the club always welcomes new players . This has not changed throughout all my years at the club ”.
This season the rugby club is in a positive frame of mind with players of all ages enjoying everything that is on offer . From regular events , rugby games and talks there is something for everyone down the club . James continued , “ This season in particular the mood in the club has changed from 2017 season . We felt hard done by last season due to other circumstances leading to the club being relegated by a single point . So players in particular feel like we have a point to prove ”.
In addition , the purchase of a mini bus for away games has been a great addition to what the club offers . Team bonding by sharing a lift has had
