nderbank Rangers RLC is based at The Cross Grounds on Dunford
Road in West Yorkshire and their first team will compete in the
NCL Premier in 2018. They are led by the team of President Gerald Parr and
Chair David Berry and the club is progressing well under their guidance.
They enjoyed a season to remember
in 2017 as they put together a record of
seventeen wins and just three defeats in
the league. This saw them finish in 2nd
place in the table with 34 points on the
board.
One of the highlights of the team’s
performances was the attacking brand
of rugby that they were able to produce.
This was highlighted by the fact that
they racked up 625 points at a rate of
more than thirty per game which saw
them finish as the league’s top scorers.
This will certainly have meant that
any supporters attending their matches
will have been well entertained and
should encourage more of the local
community to get behind the team in
future. This in turn has the potential to
provide them with a valuable source of
additional revenue.
The team will now have turned their
attention towards their 2018 campaign
and making sure that they are able to
hit the ground running. As long as they
are able to keep their current group of
players together and can perhaps make
one or two quality additions they should
be in with a good chance of a successful
campaign.
This is a club that is committed to
providing as many people as possible
the opportunity to play the game and
this is highlighted by the fact that they
also run a winter side. This allows them
to effectively offer people a game all year
round.
A major benefit of also having a
winter side is that it has the potential
to provide the club with all year round
revenue which is particularly important
in the current financial climate. It also
highlights their commitment to playing
a vital role in the local community.
Underbank Rangers is not a club to
focus solely upon their section however
and this is reflected by the fact that
they also run a number of youth sides.

These teams look to provide young players from the local area
with an opportunity to play the game in a safe and enjoyable
environment whilst helping them to reach their full potential.
It is important for any club looking to be successful over
a sustained period of time to be able to produce their own
talent and this is an area they appear to have covered. It will
certainly be exciting to see how their youngsters are able to
progress over the coming years.
There is much to admire about the fine set up that
Underbank Rangers currently has in place and this is being
reflected by the superb results they are achieving on the field.
Hopefully they will be able to keep up the good work for many
years to come.

we offer to give our customers more options

We were delighted to recently win the Overall
Best Product for our sourdough at the Craft
Bakery Association Bakery Competition in
Harrogate. I think the key to that has been
being prepared to put in a lot of hard work.
We’re looking to expand now and just need
to find the right spot as the demand has
increased significantly. Not a lot of bakeries
offer the same range that we do and we want
to progress so that we can continue to provide
the superb quality that we do now.”
