Clifton Wyn Tingley took the time to speak to the club’s official website, www. cliftonrugby.co.uk, shortly after his appointment, saying, “For me, it is an amazing honour to be elected Chairman of Clifton RFC and I am 100% committed to helping this Club be the best it can be – on and off the pitch.” “After speaking to supporters about what they want from a club he went on to say, “It’s clear that you want excellent facilities you can be proud of, to stay where we are in Cribbs Causeway, to provide superb coaching and a safe environment. To be somewhere you feel at home, providing rugby that’s fun to watch, play and coach. “That’s at the heart of it for me: Fun rugby. Winning rugby. Family Rugby.” This season it would be fair to say that their first team has not perhaps enjoyed the campaign that they would have liked, having put together a record of five wins, a draw and thirteen defeats from their nineteen matches. This has left them sitting in the bottom half of the table with thirty-two points on the board. They will now be looking to put together a good run of results in order to move up the table.
