The Trust is committed to increasing participation in recreational activities, to promote a healthy lifestyle and to work with its’ partners (Strathmore RFC, Brechin Rugby Club, Scotland Rugby League and Scotland Rugby Union). This will be achieved by utilising existing facilities and equipment and working alongside the current coaches to create a safe environment for all. The aim of the Trust is to assist coaches, volunteers and players, of all ages, to develop and enjoy the health and social benefits of rugby. Within two years the Trust will create a sustainable programme of projects centred on rugby, health and the community. This programme will develop coaches, players and volunteers to ensure continued participation in sport. Rugby Rugby has long enjoyed a reputation as an inclusive and social sport based on respect and a sense of belonging to a club or community. These core values are at the heart of the Trust and its partners. The Trust aims to instil the rugby ethos into its players, coaches and volunteers to engage them and encourage them to continue playing sport. Health People start sports to get fitter and healthier but often stop due to a lack of proper guidance and understanding in how to prepare their body for activity. The Trust aims to increase participation by educating people on how to prepare, how to stretch and how to condition themselves. Encouragement will be given into eating healthily and improving general lifestyle. Community The trust will work with the existing partners and clubs to create sustainability by educating coaches to improve their personal skill level. The aim will be to have educated and supported players who will continue to play and support their club. The Trust will encourage a sense of community in players so that they give something back to their clubs and back to younger players to create sustainability of the Trusts objectives.
