Strathmore FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/RUGBYCLUBMAG RC: How’s the general mood down at the club at the moment? SG: There’s a real buzz following the completion of the extension and opportunities it’s providing for the junior and senior sections. In addition the performances of the first team have been great. 5 REPAIR AND CONVERSION YARDS 5 DRY DOCKS LARGEST DRY DOCK: 200M X 21M ABERDEEN | GRANGEMOUTH LEITH | GREENOCK | TROON RC: How would you say 2017 has gone for the club? SG: The extension has been a big positive as has the winning run for the 1st XV but the juniors committee have also done a lot of great work building in stability through continuity planning with the coaches and increasing player numbers at primary and secondary ages. The rugby league team, the Strathmore Silverbacks, became Scottish Champions in August. RC: What are your plans for 2018? SG: The junior section will continue to build and grow over the next year and hopefully the 1st XV will win the league and the Silverbacks retain their trophy! We are also planning on employing a Business Development Manager to manage and develop the community use of the club and generate more income, which will be reinvested in the facilities.
