Natwest 6 Nations
Gregor Townsend -
Scotland
Scotland made a lot of progress under Vern Cotter
and the task of continuing his good work falls to
Gregor Townsend. Having worked with a number of
the players at Glasgow Warriors he is well positioned
to do so and is ambitious ahead of his first 6 Nations
in charge.
“Every team goes into this championship believing
they can win. It’s the whole reason we are here. We’ve
got to set high standards, high ambitions for our team.
We believe in them but we also know the hard work
that has to go in to make that happen.
“There’s only five games in the championship.
Teams that do well obviously win four or five games.
We know we’re going to have to play very well in
each of those five games to win.”

“We wanted to get better control over cash
transactions, run our membership through the
system, and provide an incentive to be a member of
the Club. By installing the Clubminder Membership &
EPOS System:
We introduced an incentive programme; this
significantly improved our membership income and
cash flow.
Warren Gatland -
Wales
Warren Gatland returns to lead Wales this year
after helping the Lions to a creditable draw in New
Zealand. Gatland himself received plenty of criticism
during the Lions tour, highlighting a worrying trend
in sport of continuing to criticise regardless of results.
If holding the reigning World Champions in their back
yard across three entertaining tests doesn’t silence the
critics then not much will.
And so Gatland comes into this tournament with
a point to prove and many people have written his
Welsh side off. That will probably be just fine with
Gatland and he is confident of a good performance.
He recently said, “It is a great bet. The
championship is important, full stop. The autumn is
about an opportunity to blood some new players, to
try things, to experiment a little bit. It is important for
us to start well and do well in this tournament.
“The whole process is about building up to the
World Cup and continuing to work towards that.
These next two (Six Nations) championships, this year
and next year, will be important – it is part of the long-
term planning and preparation for Japan.”
Our cash control and reconciliation is now
much improved.
It is now so much easier to communicate with all our
members on a regular basis. It has increased
membership numbers significantly.”
