The History of Elcons
Elcons Employment Law Consultants was founded by Managing Director John Peel in 2008 . The businesses started from his back bedroom and now occupies three units at its head office , including a purpose-built auditorium in the beautiful village of Ripponden , Halifax , West Yorkshire .
John has a legal background and is a Senior Employment Tribunal Advocate and had worked within the HR and Employment Law Consultancy sector for many years .
John had a vision that there was a niche in the market for a company that could deliver a service which was more bespoke for businesses and efficient than the companies that he had worked for previously .
Elcons first client was based in the Midlands and it was not too long before he employed his first staff member . As the businesses developed John employed more staff who are still within the business today . Elcons strengths are its people , who have brought a wealth of expertise to the Company and are highly valued employees .
Elcons now provide professional HR consultancy and Legal services to over 750 businesses nationwide with a strong client base in the North East of England and employ a strong legally qualified team of Consultants as well as support staff .
Elcons services are tailored for employers and its prime objective is to help employers avoid employment tribunal situations . Elcons do this successfully by supporting businesses on a daily if not hourly basis by giving them sound pragmatic solutions to HR problems that occur through its 24 hours advice line . In addition , Elcons offer a comprehensive Health and Safety service for those businesses who require Health and Safety support .
Elcons also work in partnership with other businesses , particularly businesses who ’ s ethics match those of Elcons . Wilby Commercial Insurance brokers based also in Halifax work hand in hand with Elcons and their Risk Management Division currently service Elcons clients who are subscribed to their Health and Safety Services .
Born and bred in St Helens , Merseyside , John is passionate about Rugby League having followed his home team for all of his life . John is keen to support local sports clubs . So much so , Elcons have recently had their logo on the Halifax Rugby League away shirts and have had recent exposure on Sky Sports at the Halifax away games .
As the business develops , so do our services . Elcons are able to deal with matters efficiently on the same day and our advisors draft all HR letters for their clients .
Elcons offer management training courses which are held weekly to all of their subscribed clients . The theory behind the courses is to give managers the correct skills to be able to tackle HR issues head on with the support of the advice team .
Elcons also offer other training courses such as Emergency First Aid at Work which gives employees a three year qualification in First Aid .
