ochford Hundred Rugby Club is based at The Rugby Park on
Magnolia Road in Essex and their first team currently competes in
London 2 North East. They are led by the team of Chair Peter van den Broeck
and President Mike Drinkwater and the club is looking to progress under
their guidance.
Over the years the club has put
together a history of which they have
every right to be proud, having first
been established in 1962 following the
idea being discussed at the White Hart
in Hawkwell in November 1961. The
current group of players will be keen
to add to their illustrious past over the
coming years.

Their first team put together a solid
campaign this time around, compiling
a record of ten wins and twelve defeats
from their twenty two matches. This saw
them finish in a safe mid-table position
with fifty seven points on the board.
This should provide them with a good
platform from which to build as they
look ahead to their 2017-18 campaign.
As long as they are able to retain their
current group of players and can perhaps
make three or four quality additions
they should be in with a good chance of
pushing on up the league.
One of the highlights of the team’s
performances this time around was the
attacking brand of rugby that they were
able to produce. This has been reflected
by the fact that they racked up 571 points
in the league alone at a rate of more than
25 per game.
