“Youth rugby is massively important
to the club; we have a strong section
and yet if we are going to encourage the
youth to come all the way through to the
seniors we have to have the same ethos,
culture and coaching throughout the
club. Currently, a large number of
the senior squad have come right
through from Minis.
“We are a community
club; we however need to
involve the town far more
than we currently do.
Tring is a special place
and we must spread out
far more widely to let
everyone know what a
successful rugby club
we have.
“We
are
not
currently satisfied with
the facilities we have.
More land would be
fantastic but not easy to
achieve, the clubhouse is
old and not fit for purpose so
there is a plan in place to create
a new facility and hopefully
planning will soon be submitted to
the council. It is vital that we bring the
whole club along with this process to
provide the best facilities possible and
have a facility that is fit for purpose.

“If we do not become ‘one club’
there will be divisions, this will prevent
us from developing into the wonderful
club we could be, with everyone pulling
in the same direction there is nothing
we cannot achieve. The playing
side is just one aspect; we
must be not only sustainable
but progressive in every
area to know where we
are heading and work
together to get there.
“The ambition of
becoming the best
run amateur club
in Hertfordshire is
within our grasp. A
new clubhouse and
better overall facilities
would be ideal but
making every member
feel valued and part
of the club over the
coming years would be
our greatest ambition.
“We
have
some
outstanding players, coaches,
parents and members here.
The foundations are therefore
in place to move the club forward.
We must do so at the correct pace and
communicate throughout; there is a huge
amount of commitment to achieve this.”
