RUGBY UNION FOOTBALL CLUB
P
ontefract RUFC is a fine example of a community club and is working hard to progress a
number of different areas in what is an exciting period for everyone associated with them. We
recently caught up with Membership Secretary Jonathon Hill to find out more about how they
have been getting along lately.
Involvement
He told us, “I first started at the club

second team for three years before finally

16 Issue 72
committee two years ago. This year I’ve

committee as originally it was all meant

club and the atmosphere surrounding
it. The players at the club also help out, “Generally, the mood at the club is
one of excitement and slightly sombre
at the same time as the club seems to be
on the up and moving forward however
the first team failed to get promotion
this year from what felt like a frustrating
season.
There is an air of excitement for next
season seeing as though we believe we
can get promotion for the first team and
