“The mood at the club is positive, having come so
close to promotion to the National League. We
lost 33-35 to Tunbridge Wells in the extra time
of the London and SE play off. The players
are certainly keen to push for promotion
in the next season or two.
“I’m currently on the way to sunny
California with Stuart Short, Ian
Rabey and Stuart Rabey, to join the
first team end of season tour. This
will be our 15th visit to America
where we still remain unbeaten
but more importantly the club has
spread their love of rugby and made
long life friends in different parts of
the world.
“All three of us have been involved
at the club for over 30 years from the mini
sections and have been lucky to have been
involved at the senior first team level. Fellow
officers including Chairman Aidan Little, President
Steve Slowik and Head Coach Matt Lockwood all play a
vital role at the club.
“CRFC has had great players graduate through the club and
continue to have current great players, we have been consistent
in developing young players, enhancing their playing ability
and offering a structure that supports all playing levels. We
have a culture that thrives on playing to the best of your ability,
being competitive but not losing the enjoyment.
“We are currently sitting in London North 1 and narrowly
lost the play-off game to Tunbridge Wells after extra time, a
victory that would have seen us play in the National Leagues
for the first time. Under the guidance of head coach Matt
Lockwood we are building plans to push for promotion and
with a very young side led by Cameron Meakin we are in a
very good place.

“The long term plan is to be in a sustainable position
offering a good platform for rugby at a high level
as well as developing the younger players,
encouraging them to push and play to the
best of their ability but without losing
the enjoyment that we have at our club.
“The second and third teams
had successful seasons with both
reaching the end of season finals ,
winning one and narrowly losing
one.
“To complement our excellent
club house which was recently
extended and upgraded through
some of our members, we are
looking to further improve our
playing surfaces as well as looking to
a revamp of general training and playing
equipment as we continue to aim to make
sure that the club is the best it can be both on
and off the field.”
