They made the move to their current ground at Copt Heath in 1967 and then established themselves as a fine side in the 70s before suffering some difficulties in the early 80s which led to them becoming an open side in 1982. Perhaps their greatest achievement came when they made it to the final of the 1999 Tetley’s Bitter Vase Final at Twickenham. The current group of players will be keen to add to their illustrious past over the coming years. This season their first team put together a fine campaign, compiling a league record of seventeen wins and just five defeats from their twenty two matches. This saw them finish in second place in the league with eighty four points on the board. They have every right to be proud of their efforts and will now be turning their attentions to preparing for the new season. As long as they are able to retain their current group of players and perhaps can make one or two quality additions they should be in with a good chance of challenging for honours. One of the highlights of the team’s performances has been the attacking brand of rugby that they have been able to produce. This has been reflected by the fact that they racked up 77 points at a rate of more than thirty five per game.
