The club was first established in
1932 as Solihull Old Boys and have
put together a history of which
they have every right to be proud
since then. They made the move
to their current ground at Copt
Heath in 1967 and then established
themselves as a fine side in the 70s
before suffering some difficulties
in the early 80s which led to them
becoming an open side in 1982.
Perhaps
their
greatest
achievement came when they made
it to the final of the 1999 Tetley’s
Bitter Vase Final at Twickenham.
The current group of players will be
keen to add to their illustrious past
over the coming years.
This season their first team put
together a fine campaign, compiling
a league record of seventeen wins
and just five defeats from their
twenty two matches. This saw
them finish in second place in the
league with eighty four points on
the board.
They have every right to be
proud of their efforts and will
now be turning their attentions
to preparing for the new season.
As long as they are able to retain
their current group of players
and perhaps can make one or two
quality additions they should be in
with a good chance of challenging
for honours.
One of the highlights of the
team’s performances has been the
attacking brand of rugby that they
have been able to produce. This
has been reflected by the fact that
they racked up 77 points at a rate of
more than thirty five per game.
This will certainly have meant
that any supporters attending
their matches will have been well
entertained and should encourage

It is important for any club looking to
be successful over a sustained period of
time to be able to produce their own
talent and this is an area they appear
