Morganians RFC has enjoyed a season to remember this time
around, having finished top of the Tribute Somerset 2 South
League. We recently caught up with club representative to
Phil Curd to find out more about the good work the club has
been doing lately.
Involvement
He told us, “I first started playing for
Morganians in 2005 after being asked
to resurrect my playing career to make
up the numbers one weekend. Up until
three years ago, it wasn’t unusual for

the captain to be scrambling around for
players on a Saturday morning.”
The Role
“As a coach, the most rewarding thing
is to see players implementing things
you’ve been working on in practice (at
the right time), to see improved decision
making and for the fifteen individuals to
function as a team.
In terms of challenges – I started the
season as a player and have moved in to
a coaching role due to injury. That’s not
