top but this very change in style coupled with socioeconomic
changes is cutting out the stalwarts who would run the clubs in
the future – they are leaving the game at 35/40 instead of up to
50 plus – no more Vets!
“The current concern with concussion from young ages
upwards has not yet come into effect but will. Plus the attitude of
players (the non-paid ones anyhow!) is getting more social – they
will play but don’t want to travel far as they have organised their
evenings elsewhere. The pressure of leagues is not what they and
the affected clubs want.
“It is our ambition to keep the club viable, fresh and vibrant,
investing in improving the infrastructure and making it a club
that is fun for all.”
