Rugby Club Magazine recently caught up with Club Secretary Richard McGlashan to find out more about how the club is getting along at present. Atmosphere 50th Anniversary He told us, “The current mood is vibrant and upbeat. We are fielding three senior sides which are all experiencing success. We have age group teams from U6/7 to colts and an emerging and developing girls squad at U13 and U15. Our strapline is “An amateur club run professionally” and this approach has led to a club that can focus on the development of rugby across mini, junior, youth and senior teams with the knowledge that the administrative and organisational systems are in place to facilitate this.” “This is indeed a special season with it being our 50th Anniversary season. Celebrations are well underway with an event on a monthly basis through this season. These events have been many and varied and have included a family fun day, a senior’s golf competition and a 15-a-side rugby tournament. 32 Issue 70 Iain Nicholson & Co., Solicitors have generously sponsored a new 1st XV strip, which was in the original club colours, white with maroon and black banding. Iain’s business is also 50 years old this year and his father was a founder member of the club and was responsible for the Dr Nicholson trophy which is awarded annually to the most successful team in the club. We have a 50th Anniversary Memorabilia Shop on the club website where you can order a range of 50th Anniversary items which all have the anniversary logo. This includes club tie, enamel label badge, sports shirt and much more. We commissioned High House Farm Brewery, Matfen to brew a PRFC 50th Anniversary Ale which is now on sale. The ale is 3.6 ABV and has the description, “this golden brew is a thirst
