RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB
Jed-forest RFC was first established in 1885 and their first team
currently competes in BT National Division 1. They are a fantastic
example of the important role that a club can play in their local
community and we recently caught up with their Director of Rugby,
Ali Campbell to find out more.
He told us, “I’ve been involved off
and on for around thirty years. It is a
family friendly club and the atmosphere
around the place is brilliant at the
moment. It is a club that is at the heart of
the local community and the players that
have gone on to achieve success never
forget their roots, always coming back to
visit. It’s an honest club that’s great to be
a part of; we work hard on the pitch and
certainly enjoy ourselves off the pitch as
well.”

promotion but I think the team maybe
needed a little more experience if we
were going to achieve that. We’re going
to finish third which is progression from
last season and although we’d have liked
to be promoted we’ve got a great platform
from which to build for the future.”
We’ve three games left to play this
season and will then have a short break
before getting the boys back in for pre-
season in July and we’ll hope to hit the
ground running in order to mount a push
for promotion next season.”
Talent
“It’s a really talented squad that
we’ve got; a couple of weeks ago when
we went to Musselburgh the average
age of the side was 21 with seventeen of
