They are a fantastic example of the important role that a club can play in their local community and we recently caught up with their Director of Rugby, Ali Campbell to find out more. He told us, “I’ve been involved off and on for around thirty years. It is a family friendly club and the atmosphere around the place is brilliant at the moment. It is a club that is at the heart of the local community and the players that have gone on to achieve success never forget their roots, always coming back to visit. It’s an honest club that’s great to be a part of; we work hard on the pitch and certainly enjoy ourselves off the pitch as well.” 40 Issue 70 This Season “If I’m honest we feel a little disappointed with how the season has gone on the pitch. We were hoping for promotion but I think the team maybe needed a little more experience if we were going to achieve that. We’re going to finish third which is progression from last season and although we’d have liked to be promoted we’ve got a great platform from which to build for the future.” We’ve three games left to play this season and will then have a short break before getting the boys back in for pre- season in July and we’ll hope to hit the ground running in order to mount a push for promotion next season.” Talent “It’s a really talented squad that we’ve got; a couple of weeks ago when we went to Musselburgh the average age of the side was 21 with seventeen of
