Cullompton
In the 1890s the rugby players were well represented in anything that went on in the town . Still true today , club facilities have been used for such diverse purposes as hosting the Town Fair free of charge for a couple of years when the traditional site was flooded , referees keep fit sessions and providing space for the local Hockey Ladies after match refreshments .
The seemingly frenzied activities of the Juniors on Sunday mornings brings an enormous cross section of the community to the club with more visitors in the afternoon when Ladies matches are played . The Ladies section has grown alongside the Juniors with the 1st team now leading the Ladies South West One league and being supported by U18 , U15 and U13 sides .
Burgeoning Junior activity now has the club seeking pitch space in the proximity of its facilities . Perversely a pitch has been lost as the area is
designated for residential development . In 2017 , after thirty years work to make the site what it is today the greatest news the club could hear would be the redesignation of surrounding fields to recreation as the nearest suitable site for relocation lies at least three miles out of town .
