Ponteland RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB

onteland RFC is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and has been doing so in style with some fine results on the field . Rugby Club Magazine recently caught up with Club Secretary Richard McGlashan to find out more about how the club is getting along at present .

50th Anniversary
“ This is indeed a special season with it being our 50th Anniversary season . Celebrations are well underway with an event on a monthly basis through this season . These events have been many and varied and have included a family fun day , a senior ’ s golf competition and a 15-a-side rugby tournament .
Iain Nicholson & Co ., Solicitors have generously sponsored a new 1st XV strip , which was in the original club colours , white with maroon and black banding . Iain ’ s business is also 50 years old this year and his father was a founder member of the club and was responsible for the Dr Nicholson trophy which is awarded annually to the most successful team in the club .
