The senior and youth squads train together on a regular basis and the coaches work closely together . Once they reach 18 , we involve youth players in squad games . This season , several youth players have already made their first team debuts .”
Community
“ We are very much a community club . We have players from all ages from 7 / 8 upwards . Their parents are very involved and we work well with local schools too . Our sense of community can also be seen through the generations and a number of our senior squad are sons and nephews of former players . As an amateur club , we rely heavily on volunteers to run all aspects of the club , especially on match days .”
Challenges / Ambitions
“ There is a significant drop-off nationally of players at the 16-18 age group and obviously these are the potential senior players of the future so we are making every effort to ensure players see rugby as an attractive option at this age . Financial challenges will always exist for clubs at our level . However , providing we maintain a hard core of volunteers and don ’ t spend recklessly we are optimistic of our longer term viability .
Basically our ambition is to continue to achieve our overall goal of providing playing opportunities for players at all levels / ages in the local community . A key factor in achieving this is our strengthening partnership with the local comprehensive school , with whom we have plans in place to improve the playing facilities for both parties . With regard to our senior team , we would be disappointed if we did not reach the Championship within the next five years .”

Our business Real Windows , operating throughout South Wales , have been the principal club sponsor for the past seven years and enjoy helping out when we can . “ Bryan James recognition from the Rugby Writers Club was well deserved ; Bryan has been a club stalwart for many years and is thought of very highly .
