St Clears RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB

t Clears RFC is a fantastic example of the important role that a club can play in their local community and have been enjoying a season to remember this time around . We caught up with Vice Chairman Gwyndaf Williams to find out more about the good work that the club has been doing lately .
Atmosphere
He told us , “ The atmosphere here is excellent , with the senior team top of Division 3A West of the WRU National leagues . We are well supported on and off the field .
Being a young club ( founded 25th May 1985 ) we continue to aspire to fulfil our potential , although we believe we are well placed to meet the challenges of the future and have a great team of players , coaches , committee , volunteers , supporters and commercial supporters .”
2016 / 17
“ Sat 28th January saw St Clears visit 2nd in the table Milford Haven , wining a tough encounter 15 – 21 to retain the top spot with four games to go . Our remaining games are away to Llangwm and at home to Neyland , Pembroke and Cardigan . Promotion to Division 2 West remains a strong possibility .
We hold our mini and junior festival on Sun 23rd April where c 600 kids take part and around a 1000 visitors – this will be our 7th event and is an important fundraiser to support our mini and junior teams during the season .”
Youth
“ Mini and junior rugby was reestablished at the club some 10 years ago . We now run ages from U7s – U16s with c . 200 children involved in the club .
