Inverness Craig Dunain
Neil Findlay of Club sponsor Inverness Tyre Services recently told Rugby Club Magazine , “ I know Innes from when he visits here to get his tyres done and I see Bryan from time to time as well . I like to help out with a little sponsorship when I can . Unfortunately , I don ’ t get down to see any matches but I hear that they are competing well .
I played a season for the club in the 90s having played much of my rugby at Highland , usually in a front row position . Good luck to Inverness Craig Dunain RFC for the rest of the season and best wishes for the future in hopefully securing their sought after facilities !”

PROUD TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH INVERNESS CRAIG DUNAIN RUGBY CLUB
CALL US TODAY ON 01463 711765 WWW . INVERNESSTYRESERVICE . CO . UK rugby is all about . We ’ ve got an end of season ( men and ladies ) tour organised for a 7 ’ s tournament in the South of England which the players are really looking forward to .
We ’ re also in talks with the local Council about getting ourselves a dedicated pitch and changing rooms . We lost ours when the council sold our ground for housing development seventeen years ago and we were promised relocation .” Youth
“ We see youth rugby as essential to our future growth . We ’ ve done a few “ testers ” to see what the potential is for youth players and it was very encouraging , but without the right facilities these youngsters will be lost from rugby . We cannot cater for them in our present situation .”
Community
“ We ’ re a small local club in Inverness and have always been very open to new players . Whether its older players returning to the game or people that have watched rugby on TV and fancied giving it a go .
Over the 17 years we ’ ve been “ homeless ”; we ’ ve trained , played and socialised all over Inverness which has given us a lot of recognition . We also do a bit of fundraising work which is sometimes related to major events in the city and gives us a bit of visibility . ( E . g . Stewarding at the Loch Ness Marathon ).”
Challenges / Ambitions
“ We are focused on getting our new pitch , changing rooms and a clubhouse . Without having the right facilities it ’ s becoming harder to recruit young players and also retain the players who want to progress .
If it happens quickly enough I believe the men ’ s team can swell in numbers and gain promotion to at least the next league up . As for the ladies team , I think with the right facilities , they can push to be in the top tier of Scottish Ladies Rugby .”
“ I ’ m from Edinburgh and moved to the area 15 years ago . I had played Rugby up until last year for Highland RFC 2s as a Loosehead Prop . We were looking to help out and sponsor a local club and Craig Dunain was the obvious choice in the area . The club needed a new set of strips so we offered to purchase them and in addition we got our name on the strips . We have been to watch a few matches of the men and ladies ; they are improving game by game . Myself and all the staff at Hayley Group would like to wish everyone associated with Inverness Craig Dunain Rugby Club the very best for the rest of the season .”
