AUDI ATHLONE TEAM UP WITH BUCCANEERS RFC
AUDI ATHLONE is pleased to announce it is continuing as title sponsors to Buccaneers Rugby Football Club for a sixth season .
AUDI ATHLONE and Buccaneers have much in common , both striving for performance and distinction , with style and power being key elements to their combined ambitions . Buccaneers , who play at Dubarry Park , Athlone , compete in Division 1B of the All-Ireland League . Their primarily young squad will be bidding to build on the progress made in recent seasons as they aim for promotion to the topflight this term , which they just missed out on last season . Their youth and exuberance should ensure that their spirited play will be innovative and stylish , qualities associated with AUDI .
Welcoming guests and sponsors , Buccaneers President Eddie Walsh stated that “ the club is extremely proud and grateful that AUDI ATHLONE is again title sponsor for the coming season . A very exciting year beckons , with strong club ambitions . AUDI is a superb and distinctive brand which , like Buccaneers , strives to be best in class . Buccaneers now field over 20 teams and our Minis and Youths sections continue to grow . The club will field Girls U15 & U18 teams for the first time this season and the generous patronage of AUDI ATHLONE enables the club to continue to invest in this player participation and development and it is very much appreciated ”
Mr . Michael Moore , Jnr ., on behalf of AUDI ATHLONE replied that they “ are delighted to again support Buccaneers and are looking forward to continue working with the club as their official sponsor for a sixth season . It is a great honour to be connected with Buccaneers ”. Mr . Moore added that “ our colleagues in AUDI IRELAND are also delighted to be associated with a rugby club of the calibre and prestige of Buccaneers and they see our association as mutually beneficial ”.
“ It gives me and our staff a great sense of pride to be connected with such a creative and progressive team ”, he continued , “ that , like ourselves , is not phased by change or future challenges . AUDI ATHLONE has underwent substantial change and “ moved to a new state of the art showroom where they employ close on 50 people .” In conclusion , on behalf of all the team at AUDI ATHLONE , he wished “ Buccaneers , all members and loyal supporters , great success and enjoyment during the season ”.
Club Captain Kolo Kiripati too was grateful for the continued support of Buccaneers by AUDI ATHLONE . He assured those present that “ the players and coaching staff were working hard and enjoying the environment as the countdown to the opening match gathered pace .” He added “ they would be doing everything they can and relish the chance to achieve success this year .”
Head Coach Brett Wilkinson said the squad “ look forward to the challenges that lie ahead and their collective goal and culture is to play to the best of their ability .” He too thanked AUDI ATHLONE “ for their invaluable patronage ”.
