Ted Carty recently spoke to Rugby Club Magazine about his positive association with Buccaneers Rugby club , saying , “ My three boys are all rugby players with Luke playing full back for the Buccs , Ben played centre for four seasons and Jack is a number 10 who played U18 , 19s and 20s for Ireland and is currently on the Connacht books .
I get along to see the Buccs matches regularly and the first XV are performing very well . It seems like the coaches have added a good level of professionalism to the teams play which has resulted in them sitting top of the league . It would be great to see them gain promotion this season . Best wishes to everyone associated with Buccaneers Rugby Club for the future .” half . After coming close on a number of recent occasions , hopes are high that the Pirates will secure promotion to the top flight this term . Their primarily youthful squad are playing an entertaining brand of rugby with improved fitness and handling skills being vital factors .
Youths and Minis rugby is thriving in the club and is providing a steady flow of promising players . This is a key source towards the club success with recent Buccaneers graduates such as Robbie Henshaw , Jack Carty and Danny Qualter having gone on to great success with Ireland and Connacht .
Tiernan O ’ Halloran and Finlay Bealham are another duo included in the Ireland panel for the upcoming RBS Six Nations Championship . Jordan Conroy is a richly promising young prospect who has recently been called into the Ireland Sevens squad where he joins clubmate Shane Layden .
