Launceston
The Black Farmer has been a long-time supporter of our local Launceston Rugby Club and pay tribute to the work the club does to promote rugby in the local community – particularly encouraging young people into this terrific sport .
I am particularly pleased to be the official supplier of sausages to the club as well as being one of the main sponsors . The kids attending the club on a Sunday morning munch through hundreds of The Black Farmer sausages each and every weekend there is Rugby at home – the perfect post-match snack !
For those of you who are new to The Black Farmer – I am a real person , Wilfred Emmanuel- Jones , and my life and love of food spans both urban and rural ways of life . I bought a small farm on the Devon / Cornwall border back in 1999 and being there inspired me to start a new business venture ; and The Black Farmer brand was born .
The brand celebrates my passion for both British farming and bold flavours . Launched in 2004 , I set about creating a unique brand that would challenge through innovation and excitement the tired and own-label dominated chilled sausage category .
Since that date my range of award-winning The Black Farmer products has expanded to include sausages , chipolatas , bacon , burgers , meatballs , chicken , cheese and eggs – and most recently chicken sausages - available at leading high street and online retailers .
Most importantly I wanted to be sure that The Black Farmer brand not only celebrates British farming by using only higher welfare RSPCA assured British protein , but also supports the increasingly large community of people who have Coeliac disease , or a wheat and gluten intolerance . All my products are Gluten Free so that all the family can enjoy them together . Flavours without Frontiers - the promise offered by my products also sums up my personality . I will not be confined by race , convention or tradition .
