lenrothes Rugby Club is a small club based in the new town of the same name in Fife . The club celebrated its 50th anniversary with a dinner in 2015 and during all that time has identified itself closely with the local community of Glenrothes and its surrounding towns .
We have played in a local park , Carleton Park , for most of the club ’ s history and lease our cosy clubrooms from the local authority . Visitors to the club are often surprised to see the impressive collection of international jerseys on display from Iain Paxton and Dave McIvor , both of whom learned their trade at Glenrothes before playing for Scotland ’ s back row .

Jim Cosgrove is a club sponsor of Glenrothes Rugby Club with his business CF Services . He recently told Rugby Club Magazine about his positive association with the club , saying “ As a local employer with a focus on helping community initiatives Glenrothes was an easy choice for us to become involved with ; we also support an Irish Dancing club in East Kilbride . Some of our employees played for Glenrothes RFC so when we were asked if we would consider sponsoring the club we took a run up and were so impressed by the clubs set up that we decided to become involved straight away . As a company we take on apprentices and school leavers who are looking for work experience in line with Fife councils encouragement to assist and support local enterprises . It ’ s wonderful to hear that the club have been recognised for their contribution to their community and
