Snowdown Colliery FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/RUGBYCLUBMAG Snowdown Colliery RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB S nowdown Colliery RFC plays their home games at the Welfare Ground at Aylesham and their first team currently competes in the Shepherd Neame Kent 1 League. They are led by Chair Duncan Moses who is supported by Secretary Dale House and the club is looking to progress under their guidance It would be fair to say that they have not enjoyed the campaign that they would have liked up to now having put together a record of two wins and eight defeats from their ten matches. This has left them sitting bottom of the league with six points on the board. There is still plenty of the campaign left to go however and a good run of results would see the side quickly climb the table. So long as they are able to retain their current group of players and can perhaps make one or two quality additions they should be in with a chance of doing just that. Snowdown Colliery is a club that is committed to playing an important role in their local community and this is reflected by the fact that they also run a 2nd XV. This allows them to provide twice as many players with an opportunity to play the game every week. Another benefit of having an additional side is that it allows the first XV to benefit from far greater strength in depth. If they are ever left short on numbers through injury or work commitments they have the option of calling up replacements with a limited amount of disruption. One of the highlights of their set up is the high quality facilities that they have with the new clubhouse offering modern changing rooms and social areas. They also have a 3G all-weather training facility at their Welfare Ground. There are also plans in place to further develop their facilities. Having high quality facilities is important for any club as it has the potential to provide them with a valuable source of additional income which can prove particularly important in the current financial climate. Although it is proving a difficult season on the field for Snowdown Colliery this should not take away from the good work that has been carried out at the club. If they continue in the same manner then they should be able to look forward to better results in 2017. Everyone at Rugby Club Magazine wishes tem the best of luck. 40 Issue 67 01227 720786 CAR & LIGHT COM M ERCIAL MOT's - SERVICING & REPAIRS - TYRE SUPPLIES Whether you are looking to MOT or service your car, Wingham Car Care can help.
