Autumn Internationals
Scotland
Scotland have been a side that has been improving considerably over recent years but their inability to close out big games has meant that their results have not always reflected that . It was more of the same as a fine performance against Australia still ended in defeat but victory over Argentina and a comfortable win over Georgia suggest that Scotland are continuing to improve .
Compare the brand of rugby they are playing now to two or three years ago and their commitment to creating more chances in open play is there for all to see . With such attacking talent in their backs it is an exciting time to be a Scottish fan .
Wales
Defeat in their opening fixture to Australia would have been difficult for their squad to take but they showed fine character to bounce back from the result and win their three remaining matches . At present they are not at the level they would like to be but have proven to be a match for anyone on their day and a couple of small changes could see them quickly make the step up to the next level .
The Six Nations
As defending champions , England are undoubtedly the team to beat in next year ’ s Six Nations especially considering the unbeaten run they are on at present . Ireland , Scotland and Wales all enjoyed positive Autumn results however and the competitions quality level may be the best it ’ s been for a number of years . With the new bonus points system in place it is to be hoped that the rugby will be more exciting than ever before as well .
