Autumn Internationals
Ireland
Ireland ’ s current team is in something of a rebuilding phase at present and to defeat New Zealand was a huge achievement . They came close to a series victory in South Africa but eventually missed the opportunity and having beaten Canada have the chance to make a real statement in their remaining fixtures .
Scotland
Scotland has been showing plenty of potential in recent times but are still waiting for their results to reflect their improvement which continued against Australia . Argentina provides them with another opportunity to highlight the progress they have been making .
Their game management will have to take a step forward to win however and failure to do so would make the fixture against the improving Georgia a difficult way to end the autumn .
Wales
After making it to the quarter final of the World Cup , finishing 2nd in the Six Nations and two competitive performances against New Zealand recent results certainly haven ’ t been bad for Wales . However there is a feeling that they need to add to their game plan if they are going to make the next step forward .
Having suffering a disappointing defeat to Australia they bounced back with a win over Argentina and with Six Nations fixtures against England and Ireland now may be the time to continue with their tried and tested formula for at least one more season .
The Southern Hemisphere
New Zealand have proven over recent years that they are a long way ahead of the rest of the sides in International Rugby and romped to victory in the Rugby Championship with six wins out of six . Their world record run of victories was ended against Ireland and they will be looking for revenge in their upcoming fixture .
Australia were said to be in crisis after defeats to England and New Zealand but made the final of the World Cup a year ago and showed with their performances against Argentina , South Africa and Wales that they are still a talented outfit .
South Africa and Argentina both had disappointing results in the Rugby Championship and struggled against England and Wales respectively . Both sides have plenty of talent in their ranks however and should not be underestimated .
