LORRAINE HOUGH TRIBUTE FUND

Diabetes is the most potentially devastating – and fastest-growing – health crisis of our time
There are currently 4 million people in the UK living with diabetes , and 11.5 million more at increased risk of getting Type 2 diabetes . Those diagnosed face the risk of life-changing , and life-limiting , complications , unless they are given the very best care and the support they need to manage their condition well . As a society we need to work together now – and take action now – to fund critical research , improve healthcare and treatment , and prevent yet more people developing this potentially life-threatening condition .
As the UK ’ s leading diabetes charity , our mission is that by bringing people together to work in partnership , we will support those living with diabetes , prevent Type 2 diabetes , make research breakthroughs , and ultimately find a cure .

leagues this would be a wonderful place to start playing this wonderful game . To keep the future of Rugby at the club a youth team to come up through the years is vital .
With all the players feeling like a big happy family we try to make the transition into senior rugby as smooth as possible . The men ’ s team are encouraged to go along to youth training sessions and join in , and the older youth players can join in the non-contact aspects of the men ’ s training . We all feel like we know each other well enough , so the move up shouldn ’ t be too intimidating .”
Community
“ Creighton RUFC is in the heart of a large suburban village . There are a number of new houses being built and everyone is welcome at the club . We hold many weddings christenings and baby showers in our large function room and conservatory . We have many locals that you will find at the bar most nights from opening time .”
Challenges / Ambitions
“ The biggest challenges we will be facing over the coming years are to
keep rugby going at all levels in the club , especially the newly formed youth section . Keeping and retaining players is something we are always looking at .
As we expand as a club we may need to think about new facilities ; this could be changes to the club house or the training and playing areas of the grounds
Over the next 5 years the club hopes to have a full set of youth teams as well as more competitive men ’ s and women ’ s teams all enjoying their rugby and all the social aspects of the game . We also want the club to continue to be accessible to the community , and to continue to increase our sponsorship .”
