Nuneaton Old Edwardians FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/RUGBYCLUBMAG The off-season was absolutely brilliant as there are so many positives that will help take the club forward, for example: • A new drainage system installed under the main pitch at a cost of almost £80k, mostly funded by Sport England, that will enable possibly 10 times the number of games to be played. • At long last a newly resurfaced car-park along with clearance of obstructions funded by generous members donations. • A sponsorship drive has proven to be very successful. • New signage. • Very successful appointments of a new Membership Secretary and a Social Media Secretary. • Installation of a new till system which interfaces with the RFU’s Game Management System’s (GMS) Direct Debit capability and which has enabled us to provide selective discounts to members on their purchases at the bar • Reclamation of land enabling a third pitch to be installed which has hosted games while the main pitch has been out of commission due to the aforementioned drainage project • There has been a full programme of Club (Ascot Ladies’ Day Experience, President’s Ball, Cheltenham Racing Day) and Private (Weddings, Birthday Parties, Christenings, Play-Schemes and Conference) functions that are helping to boost funding for our progressive plans. 20 Issue 66
