RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB

Creighton RFC suffered the disappointment of a poor campaign last time around but have been working hard during the summer to make sure that they improve and have been rewarded with some positive results early on . We caught up with Head Coach Daniel Dudley to find out more .

Involvement
He told us , “ I first got involved in Creighton rugby club as a young player 20 years ago , and have never wanted to do anything else after my first day training at the old club house . I was always a fan of rugby after playing a bit at school , but the standard wasn ’ t up to much , when I first walked in to the changing rooms it was so welcoming and fun straight away I knew I was going to love this group of people and I was right .”
The Role
“ Now as an occasional player and first team coach the challenges of coaching are totally different to playing , as a player you train hard and try to encourage others , but all you can really do is get the best out of yourself .
As a coach it ’ s almost the complete opposite way , trying to get the best results out of every player and the team as a whole , and as each player learns in different ways it ’ s up to the coaches to find out how to communicate effectively with each individual , while keeping the team together and interested .”
Hard Work
“ After a poor season last season it would be easy to be down in the dumps , but with a lot of work going on on and off the field everyone is happy and smiling
