Pulborough Pulborough girls The club also has a thriving Girls section with their U18s claiming glory in the National Cup competition. Mike Fisher took the time to tell us more saying, “I have been involved with Pulborough since my son was 6 years old so some 11 years ago. “Being previously a ‘lifer’ to the round ball game I fell out of love with the sport due to the lack of values. Pulborough was the local side and I popped along with many new parents to a first training session in September 2004 and have been involved ever since. “I think the most challenging element of setting up a girls section has been having the patience you need to build up playing numbers. It takes time to promote the girls game and get the message out there that it is a great game to play. “The girls were desperate to play games but when you start with 3 or 4 girls per age group that can be a bit of a challenge! The most rewarding aspects are the enjoyment of all the girls in playing a team game. They play with amazing spirit, and whether they win or lose they always have a huge smile of their faces! www.sportip.biz 53
