lackwood Stars RFC was
first established in 1920 and
has gone on to put together
a history of which they have every right
to be proud since then. We recently
caught up with their Secretary Dave
Lewis to find out more about how the
club is getting along at present.

Involvement
He told us, “I started playing for the
club in 1983 at the age of 23. I previously
lived in a small South Wales mining
village about five miles from Blackwood.
In 1983 I got married and moved to
Blackwood which was a much larger
town in comparison to the small village
that I was born and raised.
I previously played for the local
village side and was looking for a similar
community club and Blackwood Stars
fitted the bill perfectly I played for the
club for about 7 to 8 years and re-joined
as a committee man in 2005 and became
