We recently caught up with their Chairman George Williams to find out more about the good work that they have been doing lately. Involvement He said, “I have been involved with the club for over 27 years, initially joining as a social member while still coaching my son and a group of his friends at another local Rugby club. On joining I was immediately drawn into the very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and before long was convinced by my son, his friends, who were all now attending Caterham School, and their parents to start up a Junior Under 12 team. I was always impressed with the structure at the Old Cats and how 40 Issue 64 everyone was more than willing to support the complete range of teams from Minis all the way through to the senior Men’s and Ladies sides. At Caterham the players come first, and whether it is an eight year old scoring his first try or a vet still running out on a Saturday to fill the gaps when required, everyone supports each other.” Caterham School “The Club is very lucky to have a very close relationship with Caterham School and although it is an open club, the school is keen to support and promote the club and its facilities as a part of the local community. This will be a very challenging year as the new Pavilion is built and the old one demolished. On top of that the school has invested in the main pitch, both levelling the area and putting in drainage. This has added to our challenges, as it is the pitch we use for training under
