I have been to a few matches and I am very impressed by the clubs development. I would like to wish everyone at the club the very best of continued success and good luck for the future!” Unit 4 And 5, Enterprise Court, Creswell, Worksop S80 4BX The Off-season “During the off-season I always take a back seat and spend time with my family, go on holiday etc. The players have the opportunity to do the same but always want to keep going and train all the way through. We are trying to raise numbers for two teams. Hopefully this can be achieved and the 2nd team can have a season of friendlies and look at joining a league the season after.” Youth “Bringing youth into the club is something I believe we need to introduce to the club. This sets foundations for your club and helps sustain the future as you’ll always have players coming through and 36 Issue 64 you know they’ve already played rugby for x amount of years. Also from youth teams you attract parents who can bring many services and benefits to your club for improvement. We have members who are willing to kick start a junior team and go into schools to help recruit players and take training sessions. We just don’t have financial support at the moment.” Community “We are situated in Creswell which is a very deprived area. We have players who live locally and draw in a local fan base which is great for the club on match days. Surrounding Creswell are other villages such as Whitwell, Hodthorpe, Bolover Barlborough, Clowne and Worksop and this is where are players come from.” Challenges/Ambitions “The biggest challenges for us include keeping players at the club and securing finance. You cannot run a club without them. I believe with the workforce we have and the right steps towards our goals we will still be around and achieve more than what we have done so far. It’s been a roller coaster for me at Creswell but I’m still here and I hope I can see our plans through and watch the club grow and develop. Our ambitions over the coming years include to obtain a clubhouse, raise junior teams, create school club links, establish a regular 2nd team and for our first team to gain promotion from Midlands 5.”
