consists of about 85 per cent of players that have come through
the Mini and Youth system.
“We have age groups from under 7s to under 18s and a
good set of coaches who give their time generously. We are an
RFU Accredited Club which is an honour we worked hard to
get and we continue to try and make our coaches better so they
can make the players better.
“The mood at the club at the moment is very good, we
provide rugby for about 200 people of all age groups, the
committee work hard to improve everything we do and we
organize a few social events which are well supported by
everyone.
“In the past we have struggled for players but the last two
years we have finished 3rd in the league and fielded a team for
every game. This season we have a new coaching team and we
are looking to get promotion and try and field a 2nd XV for the
1st time in 10 years.
“Having youth rugby is probably the most important thing
at the club as it produces your own players; without our youth
system we would not have a senior team and the club would

Youths which also helps everyone to get to know each other.
“I would consider us to be a Community club as we also
have a cricket team which use the club and we hold social

events which a lot of the villagers attend. The club is also used
by other clubs throughout the week.
“Our biggest challenge over the next five years is to continue
to improve our Mini and Youth system by encouraging people
to join, to continue to improve our coaches to challenge the
players and to get as many players as possible to come through
the Youth system to represent the Senior XV. The long term
ambition is to get as many teams as possible onto the field to
give enjoyment to as many people as possible and hopefully to
gain a promotion or two along the way.”
