“The 2015-16 season was very good
for Calne Rugby. The players have been
tremendous and there is certainly a
feeling of togetherness as a squad. We
finished 2nd in the league and will push
for a league title win this coming season.
We have been playing touch rugby
throughout the summer and opened
these sessions to the community. We have
around 25-30 attending every Thursday
evening. Regular players, parents of
juniors, juniors and even other players
from local rugby teams come and join
us. We are now running fitness sessions
every Tuesday night in preparation for
this coming season.”
Youth
“Youth is an important part of every
club (or should be). At Calne we offer
FREE sessions to juniors from 6 years
and above. We have seen numbers dip
slightly towards the end of last season
but we will be recruiting new players for
next season and I have every confidence
in my junior Chairman and his coaching
team.”
