RUGBY TEAM
B
righton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) Rugby Team has enjoyed a season
to remember last time around. We caught up with Club Representative Jim
Allsop to gain an insight into what has been behind their success.
Involvement
He told us, “I’ve been involved in
the team for two years since I started
university at Brighton and Sussex
medical school (BSMS)taking on the role
of co-captain for the past year alongside
Dan Fleming.
One of the biggest challenges is
organising the team alongside our
studies, It is also challenging being a
medical student only team as numbers
can be difficult at times especially around
exam periods.
But it has been extremely rewarding
seeing the team achieve its potential and
24 Issue 64
show people the standards of rugby this
team is capable of. Through our success
this year it has also been great to see the
players of all years come together and
the team spirit is as high as ever.”
Atmosphere
“The general mood is great
at this moment, with the most
successful season not only a BSMS
rugby team has had but probably
the most successful season any BSMS
sports team has had. We have also had
huge numbers of fresher’s join this year,
