Weymouth and Portland FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/RUGBYCLUBMAG Weymouth and Portland RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB W eymouth and Portland RFC is based at the end of Monmouth Avenue in Dorset and their first team will compete in the Dorset and Wilts 1 South League in the 2016/17 campaign. They enjoyed a season to remember this time around with their first team clinching promotion after finishing in 2nd place in the league. They finished with an impressive record of nineteen wins and just three defeats from their twenty two matches. This saw them finish with 94 points on the board. They will now have turned their attentions to preparing for the new campaign and as long as they are able to retain their current group of players they should not have anything to fear in their new surroundings. It will certainly be exciting to see how they get on. This is not a club to focus solely upon their senior section however and this is reflected by the fact that they also have a number of youth sides in place. It is important for any club to be able to produce their own talent, particularly in the current financial climate and this is an area that they appear to have covered.
